A perfect ending to the Nobel Memorial Week - The Grand Nobel Party

A perfect way to mark the end of a successful week-long activities and events during Sweden – India Nobel Memorial Week, was the Nobel Memorial Party hosted on Saturday 30 October, at the Swedish Ambassador’s Residence in New Delhi. Swedish Chamber of Commerce India was the Event Partner for this evening which turned out to be a spectacular and memorable evening for everyone.

The theme of this year’s party was Swedish innovations. Keeping this in mind the event layout was planned in such a way that Sweden and Swedish innovations were displayed in all its grandeur to the guests for the evening. The garden lawn of the Ambassador’s residence took the form of a photo exhibit in which the finalists of a photo competition called "Swedish Innovations – Indian Interpretations" were on display. The glass sculpture exhibit, featuring Indian glass sculptures by the famous glass artist Atul Bakshi and Swedish glass artists, Bertil Vallien and Kjell Engman were the highlight of the event layout.

Almost a thousand prominent guests came to mingle and enjoy themselves in spectacular layout of the fantastic evening. The evening offered Swedish as well as Indian musical entertainment such as Swedish Idol Sibel and the popular band Bombay Vikings and cover band Black Slade. The dance and music had the guests on the dance floor foot tapping to the popular Indian and Swedish numbers and enjoying the Swedish hospitality by indulging in tasty Indo-Swedish food.

Guests of honour were the Indian Minister of State of External Affairs, Ms. Praneet Kaur and the Swedish Minister for Enterprise and Energy, Ms. Maud Olofsson.
