Swedish Business Delegation to Gujarat
SWEDISH BUSINESS DELEGATION TO GUJARAT
17 delegates participated in the Swedish Chamber of Commerce India’s first Swedish business delegation to Gujarat, led by H E Mr Lars-Olof Lindgren, the Swedish Ambassador to India. Among the companies joining where some of the largest Swedish companies present in India.

The objectives of the trip was to learn more about business/investment opportunities , dialogue with government institutions and officials / trade promotion associations, promote business and to meet potential business counterparts.

The two day program in Ahmedabad and Gandhingar, 11-13 April 2013, consisted of various meetings and round table discussions. The delegation visited i.e. the Sabarmati Riverfront and the BRTS – Bus Rapid Transport System developed by Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB) and the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
The delegation also met with the Hon'ble Chief Minister Mr Narendra Modi and government officials at the Secretariat.
During that meeting, Mr Modi told the delegation that information technology, environment technology and biotechnology will be the three pillars of growth of Gujarat in coming decades.

During a round table interaction meeting under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary/Industries & Mines Dept., Government of Gujarat, the delegates had the opportunity to present their companies and take part of presentations on Infrastructure Projects of Gujarat and investment opportunities in the Urban Development Sector, Port & port related activity, Oil and Gas sector and Energy Scenario in the state.

The Chamber also signed an MoU with the Industrial Extension Bureau, iNDEXT-b to further strengthen the business between India and Sweden.

Dinners were hosted by the iNDEXT-b, Industrial Extension Bureau, a government of Gujarat Organization and the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry where also Indian companies had been invited to match the delegates specific B2B requests.

The delegation also met with and visited the premises of Bombardier, TATA Nano and ABB.
